23 Feb Where It All Began – John Hennessey Has Been Making Fast Cars Faster Since 1991
“What I am doing is taking an already excellent product and maximizing its potential.”
– John Hennessey in the July 1992 Car and Driver
A great theme of Hennessey Performance from 1991 with John Hennessey’s humble beginnings still rings true today, making fast cars faster with a passion for automotive high performance.
This is a great throw back article written by Car and Driver Magazine in July 1992 about John’s car that started it all and the win at the Silver State Classic, a 91 mile race across a closed highway in a Nevada desert.
John would drive his Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, also known as the VR200, to all the events he competed in, race, and drive it home. Long distnace locations like the Silver State Classic in Nevada, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado, and Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. The true nature of passion for automotive high performance and racing competition.
